Sasema  was established in 2008 in Mauritius and has been built on the founder’s over 20 years Pan African work experience. While in Mauritius, Sasema completed projects worth over $50 million and has since expanded to East Africa.

Managing Director
Phil N. Gutsche
Phil has spent twenty-five years living and working in Eastern & Southern Africa, as well as spending two years in China, working primarily in the FMCG sector, as an executive in the Coca-Cola system, as well being a co-founder shareholder/director of the KFC & the Newscafe  Restaurant franchises in eastern Africa. Currently, Phil remains closely connected to the Coke system, as well as a shareholder of KFC, Newscafe & Certa Wealth Management, based in Kenya, but his executive focus is Sasema Management Company, which he established in 2008 after leaving Coca-Cola. Sasema provides Investment Management, Family Business and M&A/Investment advisory services to clients. Phil and his family live in Nairobi and are all active in sports and enjoy exploring Kenya, especially the beaches!
Consultant
Gerald Njugi
Gerald oversees the M&A advisory at Sasema. He has over 6 years of experience in corporate finance advisory doing business valuations and deal structuring for capital raises (M&As, private placings, secondary buyouts and IPOs) for companies across Sub-Sahara Africa in agribusiness, retail, FMCG, fintech, logistics, micro-finance, hospitality and F&B sectors. He has previously worked at I-DEV International (an investment advisory and strategy consulting firm working with SMEs, investors and multinational corporations in emerging markets) and at I&M Burbidge Capital (a leading regional investment bank majority owned by NSE-listed lender I&M Bank). Gerald holds a degree in Economics & Statistics (University of Nairobi) and CPA qualification (Strathmore University). He is also a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA). He is currently pursuing a Masters in Economic Policy Management at University of Nairobi.
Consultant
Jane Kagundah
Jane   is   a   seasoned   administrator   with   over   15   years   experience   in   program   management,   office administration,  procurement  and  finance.  Her  experience  has  been  gained  in  leading  organizations  that focused on providing social services to disadvantaged members of various local communities. More recently, she was General Manager at Certa Wealth Management that specializes in wealth management and insurance.

Aurore Musoni Imena
Aurore is a finance graduate from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, currently pursuing a CPA to diversify her portfolio in financial analysis, corporate finance and strategy. She also has experience in marketing where she draws her strong attention to detail, communication skills and effective time management.

Samuel Njuguna
Samuel holds a degree in Bachelor of Economics from the University of Nairobi and CIFA qualification of section 6. He worked at Six Degrees Consultancy as a lead trainer on investor education for the Capital Markets Authority. He is a hardworking, motivated and diligent individual.

Reuben Kagichu
Reuben has experience in analyzing financial data by collecting, monitoring and creating financial models that guides management action. Reuben’s key competences are analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and assisting with quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting.
Office Administrator
Catherine Waringa
Catherine has over six years of experience working as a personal assistant to various directors. She holds a CPA qualification of part two. She oversees the daily management and administrative support as the office administrator. She is proficient in maintaining a professional and confidential working environment for all our esteemed clients.
Accounts Assistant
Millicent Kuria
Millicent directly handles all financial matters of the company including accounts payable, client billing, payroll and banking. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics and CPA ongoing .She is highly analytical, deadline-driven with accuracy and speed required to oversee the accounts handled in a proficient manner.
Accounts Assistant
Winnie Wanjiku
Winnie assists the Accountant in all the financial duties of the company and also does most of the Director’s book-keeping. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Sociology) from the University of Nairobi and CPA qualification of section 5. She is well equipped to handle accounting packages like QuickBooks and Sage. She is an honest and enthusiastic individual who handles her work in an organized and responsible manner.
