Phil N. Gutsche
Phil has spent twenty-five years living and working in Eastern & Southern Africa, as well as spending two years in China, working primarily in the FMCG sector, as an executive in the Coca-Cola system, as well being a co-founder shareholder/director of the KFC & the Newscafe Restuarant franchises in eastern Africa. Currently, Phil remains closely connected to the Coke system, as well as a shareholder of KFC, Newscafe & Certa Wealth Management, based in Kenya, but his executive focus is Sasema Management Company, which he established in 2008 after leaving Coca-Cola. Sasema provides Investment Management, Family Business and M&A/Investment advisory services to clients. Phil and his family live in Nairobi and are all active in sports and enjoy exploring Kenya, especially the beaches!

Gerald Njugi
Gerald oversees the M&A advisory at Sasema. He has over 6 years of experience in corporate finance advisory doing business valuations and deal structuring for capital raises (M&As, private placings, secondary buyouts and IPOs) for companies across Sub-Sahara Africa in agribusiness, retail, FMCG, fintech, logistics, micro-finance, hospitality and F&B sectors. He has previously worked at I-DEV International (an investment advisory and strategy consulting firm working with SMEs, investors and multinational corporations in emerging markets) and at I&M Burbidge Capital (a leading regional investment bank majority owned by NSE-listed lender I&M Bank). Gerald holds a degree in Economics & Statistics (University of Nairobi) and CPA qualification (Strathmore University). He is also a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA). He is currently pursuing a Masters in Economic Policy Management at University of Nairobi.

Catherine Waringa
Catherine has over six years of experience working as a personal assistant to various directors. She holds a CPA qualification of part two. She oversees the daily management and administrative support as the office administrator. She is proficient in maintaining a professional and confidential working environment for all our esteemed clients.
